The reason for writing this book is that the authors question those, who, even today, approach various topics concerning the science of engineering and other applied sciences through stochasticity. But there is also another reason for writing the book which has to do with ascertaining that as time passes and things wear away, time also leaves behind something quite positive -experience. It is this experience which no probabilistic model can incorporate in a simple and useful way. Nevertheless, experience could be incorporated and applied to a great number of activities which are related to an engineer's field of work, and which the book refers to through fuzzy sets. Randomness is replaced, where possible, by experience.
